The Bypass Bar & Grill is a hidden gem nestled on ND-5 NW in Crosby, North Dakota, offering a delightful experience for locals and travelers alike seeking a hearty meal and a fun atmosphere. This vibrant bar and grill strikes a perfect balance between a lively bar scene and a cozy dining experience, making it an ideal spot for all occasions.
The menu is bursting with familiar comfort food, expertly crafted to satisfy a range of cravings. For those looking to dive into classic American fare, you can't go wrong with their Fish and Chips or the Fried Walleye, both fresh and crispy, accompanied by tangy tartar sauce that elevates the dish beautifully. Their Baskets section features generously portioned selections, such as the mouthwatering 4 Piece Chicken and the deeply flavorful 4 Rib Basket, promising a delicious sampling of popular favorites.
If you find yourself in the mood for a hearty appetizer, the BBQ Pork Nachos are a must-try. Picture warm tortilla chips generously topped with smoky, tender pork and drizzled with creamy cheese sauce—it's a savory explosion that will have your taste buds dancing. For a touch of comfort, the Garlic Cheese Curds are a crowd-pleaser, offering a crispy exterior with gooey melted cheese that’s hard to resist.
The vibe at The Bypass Bar & Grill is lively and welcoming. As Jena Vignola noted in her review, you have two distinct dining experiences available. If you prefer a more subdued dining atmosphere, the restaurant side features cozy booths perfect for intimate conversations. On the other hand, if you're in the mood for some fun, the bar side is adorned with jukebox tunes, high-top tables, and the thrill of casino games. It’s the ideal place to unwind with friends after a long day.
While wait times might be longer during peak hours, as echoed in Erik Benroth’s experience, the exceptional service provided by the friendly staff makes it worth your while. They ensure that you remain comfortable and catered to, regardless of how busy the scene may get. So, if you’re not in a hurry, settle in and enjoy the night as you savor every bite of your meal!
Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Bypass Bar & Grill promises a fulfilling dining experience where the food and ambiance come together in perfect harmony. Come for the food, stay for the friendly company and lively atmosphere!

What a hidden gem in small town North Dakota. It is worth the stop if you are staying in Crosby or just passing through. Service it top notch and the food is the best food I had in a long time on the road and the price point is spot on.

This place has a great vibe with lots going on - one side seems more restaurant-ish (a little quieter with booths) and the other is more of a bar thing with juke boxes and casino games and high top tables. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. Great food selection as well. The only thing I will say is don't go here if you're in a rush, as it takes quite a while to be served, but we all really enjoyed our meals so it was worth it.

The service was awesome. My food was awesome. I ordered the Walley diner. Others in my party ordered a burger that was a little over cooked abd cheese curds that had all the cheese cooked out of them. The service was worth giving the restaurant a second chance. We went at 3PM the bar side is open then and the restaurant side is not open but there is a full menu. We had a toddler with us. The server allowed us to sit on the restaurant side anyways and still served us since we needed a high chair for the toddler. All the tables in the bar area are high tops.
